<p>A process for providing a textured oxide by mixing the precursor metallic elements of the desired oxide to close to the stoichiometry of the desired final oxide product; shaping the mixture into an article; and directionally oxidizing the article, at a temperature insufficient to melt any of the oxidizable components thereof but sufficient to oxidize the precursor metals in the presence of a suitable oxidizing agent.</p> |
