Furnace heating castings for dental prostheses - has walls coated with black ceramic to absorb radiant heat

Castings which form parts of dental prostheses are heated in a gas muffle furnace (2) which is placed inside a large furnace (1). The external surfaces of the gas muffle furnace (2) and or the inside surfaces of the walls (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) of the larger furnace are coated with a material which absorbs radiant heat. This coating consists of a layer of black ceramic material which may be applied by means of a brush or by spraying. This type of furnace heats the castings uniformly and so avoids distortion which may arise due to uneven heating. USE - Mfr. of dental prostheses.
