A cover strip is made of flexible sheeting and covers the ridge of a sloping roof which, in partic. is clad with flat sheets of material. The underside of the strip has a number of separate spacers with top-hat type cross-section which are porous to air and which are pref. made of a phenolic resin -impregnated fabric. IN the figure the strip is seen from underneath. It consists of a flat area 50cm wide (12) running between two edge strips (14,16) which extend along the whole length and are 20cm wide (18,20) with series of phenolic resin-treated mesh of artificial fibres glued on and moulded into bosses (22). These bosses (22) serve as spacers. They are distributed in a number of rows in both longitudinal and trannsverse directions. The longitudinal rows being offset from each other. These bosses (22) have a top-hat shape, with the thicker end on the sheet (12), their dia. is 10mm and 8mm at the ends, and they are 12mm high. ADVANTAGE - The prod. not only seals off the top of the ridge but also holds the top sheets away from the surface of the under-roof so leaving the gap for ventilation. The spacers are stable enough to take nailing on the flat sheets without becoming distorted.
