摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer sheet giving a sharp image having sufficient printing density and excellent in resolving power without generating printing wrinkles and image shift at the time of thermal transfer by specifying the elastic modulus of a thermal transfer sheet in at least one of the sub-scanning direction and main scanning direction thereof and the ratio of the elastic moduli in both sub-scanning and main scanning directions. CONSTITUTION:The elastic modulus of a thermal transfer sheet wherein a dye layer is formed to the surface of a base material film having a sliding layer on the rear thereof in at least one of the sub-scanning direction MD and main scanning direction thereof is set to 280kg/mm<2> or more and the elastic modulus ratio of MD/TD is set to a range of 0.8 - 1.3. As the base material film, a polyethylene terephthalate film is pref. and biaxially oriented to be set to 0.5 - 50nm in its thickness. The sublimable (thermal transfer) dye layer formed on the base material film is a layer supporting a dye by an arbitrary binder resin. A sliding layer is provided to the surface opposite to the dye layer of the base material film to pref. enhance the slidability of the base material film with a thermal head. This sheet generates no fine wrinkles or image shift at the time of printing and can form an image excellent in resolving power and color reproducibility. |
