The radial shaft sealing ring has a sealing lip (5) with an end (10) facing the medium being sealed off. The medium side (10) of the sealing lip (5) has a helical piece (11). The end (10) protrudes radially outwards at least beyond part of the periphery. The helical piece (11) has cams (12) sloping to the radial line and alternating in slant. The cams (12) end some way from the sealing edge (6) of the sealing lip (5). USE - The radial shaft sealing ring prevents the medium from penetrating through the helical piece underneath the sealing edge.
