<p>The valve is positioned between a master cylinder (14) and at least one rear wheel cylinder (22) of a motor vehicle, and comprises a housing (28) having an inlet (38), an outlet (40) and a chamber (30). An annular sealing member (44) is disposed around a piston (56) in the chamber with a clearance therebetween. The sealing member has an inner perimeter (52) defining a valve seat and an outer perimeter defining a flexible lip portion (46) which is in contact with the internal wall of the chamber, and which permits a communication from the outlet to the inlet but shuts off a communication from the inlet to the outlet. A spring (68) urges the piston in a direction in which the valve head separates from the valve seat. A regulating member (80) contacts with the end of the sealing member remote from the valve head, holding the sealing member against an internal shoulder of the housing or against the valve head to prevent unwanted lateral or tilting movement of the sealing member in use. …<IMAGE>… </p> |
