<p>PURPOSE:To smoothly scroll a picture by writing still picture data converted to a data sequence in a picture memory and setting a desired read position (address) at the time of read. CONSTITUTION:Picture data corresponding two pictures is written as data sequences W1=(a11,a21,a31 to a5251) to W910=(a1910,a2910,a3910 to a525910) in the longitudinal direction by a longitudinal-direction picture memory write means 4. Data is read as data sequences R1=D(a11+k,a12+k,a13+k to a1455+k) to R525=(a5251+k,a5292+k,a5253+k to a525455+k) in the transverse direction by a transverse-direction picture memory read means 5. K is an integer equal to or smaller than 455. The value of K is increased to 0, 1, 2, 3 or the like by one for each field at the time of reading pictures and is reduced to 455, 454, 453 or the like by one at the time of read to scroll the picture in the horizontal direction. Thus, the picture is smoothly scrolled with a small quantity of picture data.</p> |
