<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a ballast for a discharge lamp, vibrations of which are reduced, mounting operation of which is facilitated and the noises of a mounting lighting fitting of which is lowered, by installing a ballast main body and a capacitor to a mounting plate through a vibration-proof material respectively. CONSTITUTION:With a ballast for a discharge lamp, a capacitor 2 is set up to a ballast mounting plate 1 through a vibration-proof material, and a ballast main body 4 is fitted to the ballast mounting plate 1 through a vibration proof material 5. Since vibrations transmitted over the capacitor 2 from the ballast main body 4 are passed through two-time vibration-proof materials on their midways, vibrations are absorbed in an overlapping manner and reduced in an extent that they can be ignored, thus lowering even the vibrations of the whole ballast. Vibrations transmitted over the mounting plate 1 through the vibration-proof material 5 from the ballast main body 4 are also absorbed approximately by the vibration-proof material 5 at the same time, thus extremely diminishing the vibrations of the mounting plate 1. The mounting plate can be installed directly to a lighting fitting 8 by a screw 6 and a nut 7, and a novel vibration-proof material, a washer, etc., are unnecessitated for mounting, thus improving the workability of assembly while reducing the vibrations of the lighting fitting 8.</p> |
