发明名称 OPTICAL AMPLIFIER
摘要 PURPOSE:To attain efficient and easy wave synthesis even when the wavelength of both a stimulated light and a signal light is close to each other by using the method of polarized light synthesis for the synthesis and separation of the both lights. CONSTITUTION:Two sets of synthesized lights comprising orthogonal X, Y polarized waves are led to an optical fiber amplifier 2 for X polarized wave and an optical fiber amplifier 3 for Y polarized wave and amplified separately and the stimulated light radiating from the optical fiber amplifiers 2, 3 and the amplified signal light are synthesized by a polarized wave beam splitter 4. ln this case, since the signal light and the stimulated light in optical paths 5, 6, 5' and 6' are orthogonal to each other, the signal light and the stimulated light synthesized by the polarized beam splitter 4 are outputted while being separated specially. Since the method of polarized wave synthesis is used for the synthesis and separation of the signal light and the stimulated light, the optical amplifier independently of the wavelength of the signal light and the stimulated light is obtained.
