PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet at low cost by almost omitting a post-treatment such as polishing of a compact by molding an Nd-Fe-B quenching alloy powder having high saturation magnetization by hot compression molding. CONSTITUTION:An alloy powder X, which is made by a liquid quenching method and consists of R of 8% or over to under 13%, B of 4% or over up to 8% or under, and the rest of which consists of Fe and inevitable impurities, is mixed with an alloy powder Y made by a liquid quenching method similarly and consisting of R of 13% or over to 20% or under, B or 4% or over to 8% or under, and the rest of which consists of Fe and inevitable impurities, resulting in the mixture wherein the alloy powder Y is 5% or over to 50% or under by volume percentage. After that, this mixture is subjected to a hot compression molding. At this time, the heating during the hot compression molding is effected by the electrically energized heating, so that rare earth magnets can be manufactured with high productivity. |
