PURPOSE: To provide a rechargeable metal-air battery possessing no pump by holding a liquid electrolyte in a porous positive electrode separator and clamping a positive electrode while continuously surrounding the circumference of its edge by means of the separator. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode 14 is surrounded in a porous positive electrode separator 20, which is provided with an upper layer 20a, a lower layer 20b, and an edge part layer 20c, while the upper layer 20a and the lower layer 20b are connected mutually, and a liquid electrolyte necessary for an action of a battery is contained in the positive electrode separator 20. In this way, recharging can be carried out while charging and discharging can be operated without using any mechanical electrolyte pump. |
