摘要 PURPOSE:To enable high load operation of the fuel cell stack even when nonconforming cells are mixed therein, though the properties of the stack are rather deteriorated, by stacking a plurality of cell units each comprising a pair of unit current collecting panels, one connected to a cathode current collecting panel and the other connected to an anode current collecting panel so as to sandwich a cell line. CONSTITUTION:A current flow through a fuel cell stack 17 is distributed to an anode current collecting plate 2 connected to each cell 1 in an anode side unit current collecting plate 5 and is stored in each single cell 1 and is caused to flow from a cathode current collecting plate 3 to a cathode side unit current collecting plate 6. Then the voltage of each cell 1 is equal since the cells 1 are connected in parallel. The cell unit is comprised of a plurality of single cells arranged in such a manner that they are electrically in parallel, and so even if nonconforming cells are mixed a load current exerted on the nonconforming cells is distributed to other cells so that the load current is reduced. Thus high load operation is enabled without causing pole changes even though the properties of the whole stack are rather deteriorated.
