PURPOSE:To simplify the housing and the jig and to reduce the cost by providing a rotatable reflecting plate behind a shaping prism for shaping a cross sectional shape of a laser beam, and rotating the reflecting plate at the time of adjusting the shaping prism. CONSTITUTION:When a semiconductor laser is replaced with a new semiconductor laser 31, since their light emission patterns are different from each other, an existing shaping prism 22 for improving the elliptically is also replaced with a shaping prism 32 of a different shaping ratio. In this case, the prism 32 is moved and adjusted so that an emitting optical axis of the prism 32 is reflected at a point P of a reflecting plate 23. Subsequently, an angle of the reflecting plate 23 is brought to rotary adjustment so that the optical axis reflected by the reflecting plate 23 coincides with the previous reflected optical axis. In such a way, the semiconductor laser and a collimator lens 21 in the housing can be placed in the same position, and as for the housing and the jig, one kind is enough and the cost is reduced. |
