PURPOSE:To enable a single lighting apparatus to provide both transmission light and reflected light for improved artistic stage effect by positioning a lamp in a stepped shade so that it faces a light-transmitting first main surface and a between-steps surface, and uses the outer surface of a second main surface as a reflecting surface. CONSTITUTION:The direct light from a fluorescent lamp 28 and the light reflected by a reflecting plate 26 located on its backside pass through a between- steps surface 41 and a first main surface 42 of a shade 36 to be radiated. Also, the diffused light that has passed through the surface 41 is reflected on the reflecting surface that is the outer surface on the lower side of a second main surface 43 to be radiated. With this arrangement, the transparent surface 41 and the first main surface 42, can provide sufficient illumination because of their efficient transmission of light, while the second main surface 43 provides a soft, indirect light, thus permitting a single illumination apparatus to offer two different lighting effects. Further, areas of the surface 41 and the main surfaces 42, 43, and their proportion are changed to emphasize various feeling of protrusion and recess, so that artistry can be improved. |
