EXAMPLE:3-O-octadecyl-D-glucosaccharoascorbic acid methyl ester. USE:An intermediate for dichiral compound useful as a production raw material for liquid crystal compound. An antithrombotic agent. The compound having OH at 2- or 3-site is useful as an antioxidant. PREPARATION:The saccharoascorbic acid derivative of formula or its salt can be produced by etherifying (hydroxyl-protected) saccharoascorbic acid or its ester and, as necessary, removing the protecting group.
