PURPOSE: To obtain a Rodentia repellent comprising a specific cinnamic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION: This Rodentia repellent composition contains a compound of the formula (X<1> , X<5> are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, a halogen, a 1-4C halogenoalkyl; X<2> -X<4> are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, OH, a 1-4C alkoxy, phenoxy; R<1> , R<2> are each H, a 1-4C alkyl; R<3> , R<4> are each H, or R<3> , R<4> are bound to each other; Y is carbamoyl which may be N-substituted by one or two 1-4C alkyl groups), e.g. 3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamic acid amide. The compound is useful for protecting plant materials such as embryo buds or growing or harvested crops, paints, plastic materials, or cables or electronic parts coated with the paints or plastic materials. |
