PURPOSE: To provide an ignition cable which possesses thermal stability and electric completeness by cladding a circumference of a strong member of non-metallic fiber with a semiconductor crosslinkable polyolefin and further cladding a circumference of thus clad member with an insulating layer. CONSTITUTION: A non-metallic strong member 10 of glass fiber roving or aramid fiber roving, etc., is clad with a semiconductor crosslinkable polyolefin layer 12 having a volume resistance of 1-40Ω/cm and thus a conductor core 14 is formed. Further an area of a cross-section of the semiconductor polyolefin layer is chosen so as to set an electric resistance of the conductor core 14 to be 100-30,000Ω/foot. Next the conductor core 14 is cured in a steam atmosphere of 250-300 pal for 1-2 minutes, and is clad with an insulating layer 16 of plastic or elastomer and a jacket 20 of polyolefin or the like. Thus the ignition cable which possesses thermal stability and electric completeness can be obtained.
