CONNECTING APPARATUS

The invention is directed to a quick connect/ disconnect mechanism for fastening structural members together. The inventive apparatus includes buttons attached to each structural member. The buttons have flanges spaced outwardly from the structural members. The flanges of an aligned pair of buttons abutt against one another. A bolt aligns the pair of buttons and prevents movement in shear of one with respect to the other. A resilient clip having end portions which are U-shaped in cross section and which extend around more than one half the circumference of the flanges fits onto the flanges to hold and clamp the buttons and the structural members together.
