An emitting electrode 10 for use in an electrostatic dust separator in combination with one or more electrodes comprises a carrier bar 11 and a number of electrode elements 12, one end of which is connected to the outer periphery of the bar 11 without any gap. The electrode elements 12 extend from the bar in several different directions. The free end 13 of the electrode elements has a pyramidal or conical shape and its shank 15 is suitably threaded. The ends of the carrier bar 11 are provided with elements 16 for fixing electrodes 10 to retaining elements. Such an emitting electrode is very effective and can be manufactured and handled very rationally and effectively. <IMAGE>
