In a method for the production of cyclohexanecarboguanamine by the reaction of cyanocyclohexane with dicyandiamide in an organic solvent possessing a hydroxyl group in the molecular unit thereof at a temperature in the range of 90 DEG to 200 DEG C. in the presence of a basic catalyst, the improvement which comprises carrying out the reaction using 0.60 to 0.95 mol of dicyandiamide per mol of cyanocyclohexane in an atmosphere substantially incapable of producing any effect of oxygen.
