PURPOSE: To form a lens with fevorable reproductivity by moving a fiber while rotating a fiber end part so as to permit it to be radiated with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION: Matching is executed so as to permit an angleθmade by the end part of the optical fiber 11 and the converged laser beam 20 to be an acute angle, radius direction movement quantity arround the optical fiber end part 17 is restricted to be equal to below 2μm and the optical fiber 11 is rotated around the axis. This, the surface material of the end part 17 is ablated in order to form the lens in the optical fiber end part 17 and and the laser beam 20 is oscillated by the speed and period of a pulse for heating the end material. Moreover, the optical fiber end part is moved so as to be radiated with the laser beam 20 in order to form the optical fiber end part to be a taper shape and also to form the lens. Thus, a microlens is easily formed in the fiber end part with favorable reproductivity. |
