Solid perfumed soap - contains a soap gel with volatile solvent water and volatile perfume

Solid perfumed compsn. of which 95% of total wt. contains (1) 5-40% of gelling soap (Na stearate) (2) 10-85% volatile organic solvent (3) 0-30% water and (4) 10-70% volatile perfume. Solvent may be glycols, their mono- or diesters, mono or di-ethers, ethers-esters e.g. ethylene glycol monoether, methoxy-(ethoxy, butoxy)-2-ethanol. The soap may contain 1-3% fillers e.g. pigments, bactericides, or deodourants. The product is a gel of m.pt. 40-80 degrees C and sufficiently hard to be not easily damaged by handling, but allowing slow evaporation of perfume over 200-400 h. Perfume is pressed in higher concn. than in aerosols.
