PURPOSE:To enhance the output of an internal combustion engine in high speed revolu tion range by controlling the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure controlling means, which is equipped on a fuel passage leading from a fuel pump to a fuel injection valve in such an arrangement as to be high in the high speed revolution range and low in the low speed revolution range in compliance with changing-over of the variable valve timing. CONSTITUTION:In the high speed revolution range a signal from an electronic control circuit 61 puts a valve control actuator 56 into operation. Now a regulator back pressure control valve 55 is blocked, and the suction neg. pressure in a divergent suction passage 6 remains not introduced into the upper side chamber 46, so that the force lifting a diaphragm 45 will decrease, and the fuel pressure in a fuel supply passage 39 and a pressure regulating passage 42 rise to case increase of the fuel injec tion amount from a fuel injection valve 38 to a great extent. Further a control signal for a solenoid valve 59 is transmitted from the control circuit 61 to actuate this valve 59, and a changeover control valve 60 is opened to cause supply of pressure oil to an oil pressure chamber 29 from a pressure oil passage 35, and by this pressure a high-speed, a resting, and a low-speed locker arm 22-24 are consolidated, and a high- speed and a low-speed suction valve make together the opening/closing motion. |
