PURPOSE:To enhance recording sensitivity and recording characteristics by containing heat-meltable substance composed of at least one of aromatic ether and thioether compounds having a predetermined composition in a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording sheet has a sheet-like base material and the thermal color forming layer formed to at least one surface of the sheet-like base material and containing a colorless - light-colored dye precursor and the coupler reacting with said dye precursor under heating to form a color and the thermal color forming layer contains heat-meltable substance composed of at least one of aromatic ether and thioether compounds represented by formula (wherein R<1> is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, n is an integer of 1 - 5 and X and Y are respectively independent each other and an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom). When this specific heat-meltable substance is used, extremely high recording sensitivity and heat resistance are obtained without lowering the whiteness of a thermal recording surface and generating a whitening phenomenon deteriorating the quality of a developed color image with the elapse of time. |
