<p>PURPOSE: To enhance safety by pivoting to such a vehicle as a stroller a pair of skids releasably held in either their retracted position or centrifugal position, releasing the skids when climbing over obstacles such as stairs, and allowing the vehicle to climb over the obstacles via the skids. CONSTITUTION: A stroller comprises a frame 2. a seat 4, and a footrest 5, and the frame 2 has pairs of double wheels 6, 8 rotatably mounted at the front and rear ends thereof. In this stroller, a pair of skids 12, 14 are pivoted to a horizontal rod 16 provided at the middle position of the frame 2 at the front wheel 6. The skids 12, 14 are releasably held by a holding device at either their retracted position or extended position. The holding device comprises a post 20, having a pair of legs 20a, 20b pivoted to a frame member 22 at the front end of the frame 2, and connecting legs 20c housed in oblong holes 12a, 14a formed in the skids 12, 14, and buckles 24, 26 are provided at the front ends of the oblong holes 12a, 14a.</p> |
