<p>A paper dispenser is furnished with one or more turnable or tiltable cutting or tearing off device, equipped with serrated or jagged edges. When inactive, the cutting edge is held by a spring or by force of gravity in a safe or innocuous position. As a drawing force is applied to the paper web coming out of the dispenser, the cutting or tearing off device is turned or tilted so that the serrations of the cutting edge come into contact with the paper web. When a portion of the web is torn off, the jagged edge returns to its shielded position. The cutting or tearing off device can be directly actuated by the paper web, or via an intermediate element.</p> |
