This method consists: in placing the textile ply 11, unstretched, over the cavity 3 of a thermoforming mould, fixing its periphery to retaining means 12 which can move elastically towards the centre of the mould 2; in heating the plastic sheet 6 to a temperature causing it to soften, using a hotplate 7, 8; in applying, in an airtight manner, the peripheral edge 9 of the softened sheet 6 against the peripheral edge of the mould 2, thereby sandwiching the textile ply 11 between the cavity 3 and the softened sheet 6; in creating a vacuum in the space lying between the bottom of the cavity and the softened sheet 6; and in cooling the composite panel thus thermoformed, using a flow of cool air and in demoulding the thermoformed panel. <IMAGE>
