The present invention relates to an anti-theft device for motor vehicles or movable plant, acting on the hydraulic braking circuit to lock one or more wheels. This device is characterised by the combining, with the master cylinder M of the conventional circuit, of a hydraulic accumulator A, and a valve V making it possible to implement the said hydraulic accumulator. Thus, by acting on this valve it is possible to set the accumulator by exerting a load on the pedal p actuating the master cylinder, then to substitute it for the master cylinder by putting it in direct communication with the wheel cylinders F. The permanent braking load then provided by the accumulator and applied to the brake shoes m by the wheel cylinders makes it possible to lock these wheels continuously, for the entire desired period of time. According to the configuration of the valve V, the locking load of the accumulator could be applied either just to one wheel, or to several, and this accumulator could be set either using the master cylinder of the circuit, or using an auxiliary master cylinder. <IMAGE>
