Reinforcement shim intended to be positioned at the intersection of two steel rod reinforcements, the one vertical and the other horizontal, in order to hold them at a given distance from a formwork. The reinforcement shim is characterised in that it consists of an element 1 which has in particular an approximately ellipsoid cross-section and which comprises an essentially plane upper face and a supporting face opposite the upper face and provided with a shoulder 7 forming an abutment on the horizontal reinforcement element, and also, on the one hand, positioning elements consisting of an L-shaped groove which is essentially perpendicular to the upper face, and of which one of the branches or first branch opens out laterally towards the outside in order to be able to receive the vertical reinforcement element A, while the other branch or second branch 6 continues essentially in the longitudinal axis of the shim 1, thus subdividing the latter into a fixing part 10 in the general shape of a hook and a distancing part 11, also forming a counterweight, and, on the other hand, locking elements cooperating with each other in order to permit an automatic blocking of the shim 1 on the reinforcement elements A in a rest position offset helically with respect to these elements by rotation on the side along the longitudinal axis and tilting forwards under the action of the counterweight. <IMAGE>
