Astronomical camera with high resolution and wide field of view, which includes a spherical mirror 15 and a field corrector constituted by a relatively large doublet 10 having a wide aperture, placed facing the spherical mirror 15 at a distance from it equal to approximately the focal distance of this mirror 15. The camera according to the invention is characterised in that it furthermore includes an additional field corrector constituted by a relatively small doublet 20, likewise placed in the vicinity of the focal plane of the mirror 15, and in that the lenses 11 to 14 of which the two doublets 10, 20 are composed define a substantially afocal combination. Application to the optical industry, especially for the production of astronomical observation instruments. <IMAGE>
