PURPOSE:To perform perfect vacuum casting with a simple installation by enclosing a molding flask and a mold with an airtight cover and a plate body, evacuating the inside of the cover, and supplying molten metal from a molten metal well tank in the upper part of the cover into a mold. CONSTITUTION:A molding flask 1 and a mold 2 are placed on a plate body 3, and the flask 1 is enclosed with a cover 4 provided with a molten metal well tank 6 in the upper part. The bottom surface 5 of the cover 4 is sealed airtightly from the body 3. A valve hole 8 sealed hermetically with a valve body 12 is provided in the position lower than the melt level 7 of the tank 6. With said constitution, the inside of the cover 4 is evacuated through a filter 13 and a vacuum tank 14 by a vacuum pump 15, after which the body 12 is removed, and the molten metal 16 in the tank 16 is introduced into the cavity 11 of the mold 2 through the hole 8, a sprue 9 and a riser 10. The gas contained in the metal 16 and the gases generated during cooling are expelled by the pump 15, and the casting of good quality contg. no foam, etc. is obtained. |
