Fixing member including a tie 4 on which is mounted an expandable plug 5 arranged between an end-fitting 6 fixed to one end of the tie and a sleeve 7 slipped over the other end of the tie, means being provided making it possible to exert a tensile force on the tie 4 by pushing directly or indirectly on the said sleeve 7, characterised in that the said expandable plug 5 is surrounded by a split ring 14 the length of which is less than the length of the said plug 5. <IMAGE>
