The process for removing condensate in drying drums heated by continuous introduction of steam under pressure into their internal cavity 4 consists in propelling the condensate and atomising it in at least one orifice produced at at least one of the ends of the internal cylindrical sleeve 8, close to the corresponding bearing. The drying drum 4 for performing the process is equipped with means of extracting and atomising the condensate, located at at least one of the lateral ends of the internal cavity 4 of the drum, close to the corresponding bearing 2, and consisting of at least one orifice 9 produced between the internal cylindrical wall 8 and the wall 10 which forms the base of the internal cavity 4, the said orifice 9 being in communication with the exterior of the drum by a passage 5 produced in the centre of the bearing 2. <IMAGE>
