Data reader for optical disc - has plate-form carriage drive with roller pivoting guide frame

The reader consists of a drive mechanism with a turntable and a housing enclosing a control unit. An opening on the top of the housing receives the data discs. The opening is closed by a cover which can be raised up by a certain amount. Under the cover, a flat side receives the disc. The slide can be moved into the housing on a guide frame. On the upper side of the slide there is a recess with a diameter a little larger than a disc and a central hole for the turntable hub. Provision is also made for lifting the slide with the disc into an upper position, then the disc can be released from the machine. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduction in space needed for inserting and removing discs. Suitable for video disc.
