The vehicle seat (1) has an adjustable seat-back (3) linked to a seat-base (2) by two hinges (5) arranged on either side of the seat. Each hinge has two plates (6,7), each one fixed at two points to the seat-base and seat-back. On a least one plate the position of one fixing point (12) is adjustable over a set distance by pivoting the plate about its second fixing point (11). The adjustment alters the clearance between a set of gears (9) controlling the position of the seat-back. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hinge stiffness and seat rattle can be eliminated.
