The open ball joint which can be used as a play object comprises inter-rotating parts of balls which have an unlimited amt. of turning axes. The ball parts can be separated from each other without destruction. A ball (1) or a dish part (2) which is more than half a ball is held by a part-ball dish (3) which projects at least over the centre of the ball dish. The part-ball dish is cut away to a maximum so that more than half remains. An unlimited amt. of ball part dishes can be fitted into each other. The outer radius of the embraced dish is equal to the inner radius of the surrounding dish with the specific material tolerances to ensure reliable turning.
