Cylinder head for IC engine - has two exhaust valves per cylinder with exhaust ducts lined with ceramic
摘要
An internal combustion engine has two exhaust valves (5) and one inlet valve (3) per cylinder. The two exhaust valves are connected to a common duct (6) which is connected to the exhaust manifold. The exhaust valve seats and ducts (6,7) are formed in the cylinder head casting (1). The separate duct (7) from each valve, and the common duct (6) are lined with a layer of ceramic (10). A slit (13) is formed in the region (R) of each separate duct (6) and this slit extends to the junction of the two ducts (6) with the common duct (7). USE - The slit reduces the thermal stresses in the exhaust ducts.
