<p>The unit comprises a linear array of elementary infrared detectors for analyzing the scene background. The elementary detectors are imaging detectors with surface areas substantially smaller than the optical spots produced by the hot objects to be detected. The unit includes means configured in order to virtually group the imaging detectors into virtual guarding detectors (dv) with surfaces substantially matched to the said optical spots, the grouping means comprising means of summing, in elevation, p contiguous intermediate imaging detectors at a step of q detectors with an overlap of (p-q) intermediate detectors from one guarding detector to the next, and means of summing, in bearing, r imaging samples at the step of s samples with an overlap of (r-s) samples from one guarding pixel to the next. The unit of the invention has a low cost price and is matched to all optical spots. <IMAGE></p> |
