The switch rail (10) is made of an insulating plastics, with an attached shield (11) held at one edge by a lip (10a) of the switch rail (10) and cooperating at the other edge (11a) with an Al terminal rail (12). The latter is attached to the switch rail (10) via a socket at its rear, receiving an electrically insulating clip (13). Pref. the latter clip (13) has a U shaped cross-section with one arm (13a) secured to the rear of the switch rail, its other arm (13b) engaging a pocket projection (12b) at the rear of the terminal rail (12). ADVANTAGE - Simple fixing of shield, without disturbing wiring.
