Hot water is pumped (6) via stopcocks (7) through a delivery pipe (10) and a return pipe (11) which features an expansion tank (12) and safety valve (8). A controller (3) responsive to an outdoor thermometer (4) and an indoor thermostat (5) acts on a power unit (2) supplying energy to the heater (1) when required. The mixerless heater has a 9 kW rated section for daytime and a 4.5 kW section for nighttime use. Full power is switched off as soon as daytime temp. is attained. ADVANTAGE - Energy is taken from mains only when room temp. actually needs to be raised.
