A temperature-controlled switch has a metal housing (1) that can be screwed into position in the body of an item of equipment. Within the housing is a capsule (3) containing a material that expands with increase in temperature and is doing so displaced a plunger (6). The plunger operates upon the carrier of a movable contact to cause changeover of the state of a switch (8). Located in the base is a thermistor (10) with a spring (11) in contact with the base of the capsule to provide continuous monitoring. ADVANTAGE - Allows variable switching points to be set.
