The telephone handset comprises a housing (2) supporting a push-button keyboard (3) and a separate handpiece (4) coupled to the handset via a telephone flex (5). The surface of the handset housing (2) supporting the push-button keyboard (3) has at least one recess for receiving the handpiece (4), which is used for at least partially covering the push-button keys. Pref. the recess is matched to the shape of the handpiece (4), with two partial recess zones which are cornically tapered in opposition to one another.
