The compartment is for the load space in a vehicle and particularly the luggage space in a shooting brake. It comprises a flat box placed on the load surface and preferably with a lid. The box (6) comprises two or more adjacent box-sections (6a,6b) . fixed together. They can heve sidewalls butting against each other and screwed together. Where there is a rear hatch (3) this can be along a line (8) running in the vehicle lengthwise direction. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easy installation of box in load surface of vehicle, while making full use of load surface available.
