PURPOSE:To accelerate the processing of normalized data, and to improve overall processing speed by separating the processing of normalized data and the processing of non-normalized data, and storing the normalized data in a register file without waiting the loading of a next instruction. CONSTITUTION:Floating-point type data to be the object of normalizing processing is outputted from a memory 1 to a data register 2, and the output of the data register 2 is decided to be either the normalized data or the non- normarized data by a data checking circuit 3. In the case of the normalized data, an address generation circuit 6 outputs an address outputted from an instruction decoding part 5 as it is to the register file 7 to store the data. In the case of the non-normalized data, it is stored once in the specified address for storing the non-normalized data of the register file 7, and after it is normalized, it is stored in a usual address. Thus, since the normalized data is stored in the register file without waiting the next instruction, the processing speed for the normalized data can be improved. |
