PURPOSE: To facilitate the filling of balls by furnishing a recess in a retainer at least at one end of recess with a slope for filling in line in approximation with one of the linear track portions. CONSTITUTION: A retainer 12 has a recess 60, and adjoining to the end face 64 of the recess 60, a groove-shaped slope for filling 66 is formed at the end of the recess in line with a track 62. A filling pipe 68 lies on the extension of the slope 66 in approximation. A rolling plate 14 is inclined to admit influx of balls 20 in the region of the slope 66. Filling of balls 20 to a track 32 for the row of return balls is further facilitated owing to a chamfer 74 on the inner surface of the rolling plate 14.
