PURPOSE:To prevent a crack of the outer circumferential part of an inside electrode and to reduce leak of air by winding a sheet having an outside electrode layer on a temporarily roasted cylindrical body having an inside electrode layer and performing normal roasting therefor. CONSTITUTION:An inside electrode 2 and an outside electrode 4 are made of noble metal and ceramics material. As noble metal, platinum or the like are ordinarily utilized and as the ceramics material, zirconia and alumina or the like are utilized. The ceramics component is ordinarily regulated to about 0.5 - 30mol% for platinum. As the material of a solid electrolyte layer 3, ZrO2-Y2O3 having oxygen ion conductivity is utilized. Ceramics material is temporarily roasted at 1,300 deg.C and ground for 220 hours by a roasting machine and thereafter granulated to about 70 - 80mum. Both an organic binder and water are added thereto and this mixture is extruded to form a hollow cylindrical body with openings provided to both end sides. Biscuit firing is performed therefor to manufacture an unglazed cylindrical body 11. Then pad application 7 is performed to form an inside electrode layer 21. Then two through-holes 6 are bored and a sheet 31 is wound on an unglazed cylindrical body 13 which is opened in one end side and closed in the other end side. Thereafter normal roasting is performed therefor to manufacture an element. |
