PURPOSE:To obtain high image quality and satisfactory color reproducibility by allowing a color toner to satisfy specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A color toner having 6-10mum volume average diameter and contg. 15-40 number% toner particles of <=5mum particle size, 0.1-5.0vol.% particles of 12.7-16.0mum particle size and <=1.0vol.% particles of >=16mum particle size is used. Toner particles of 6.35-10.1mum particle size in the toner have a particle size distribution satisfying inequality I. The toner has 3-20mg KOH/g acid value and 10-60mg KOH/g hydroxyl value and contains a hydrophobic inorg. oxide and a hydrophilic inorg. oxide as inorg. oxides so that prescribed conditions are satisfied. In the inequality I, V is the vol.% of toner particles of 6.35-10.1mum particle size, N is the number% of toner particles of 6.35-10.1mum particle size and dv is the volume average diameter of all the toner particles. High image density, superior thin line reproducibility, superior highlight gradation, high image quality and satisfactory color reproducibility can be obtd. |
