The process consists of (a) making a female substrate with the shape of the required mould or other object; (b) depending on the deg. of adhesion between the substrate and the material to be sprayed on it, either (1) using the bare substrate giving sufficient adhesion for deposition, while facilitating removal of the substrate, or (2) pre-treating or coating the substrate with carbon black, graphite, polymeric material, oxides or other material to ensure minimum adhesion during spraying and easy removal; (c) spraying by flame or plasma of ceramic particles, metals, polymers or mixts. to form a film which may vary in compsn. from place to place; (d) reinforce the coating by casting a metal alloy or polymeric, ceramic or other material, or incorporate inserts if required; and (e) separate the coating from the ' substrate.
