A process for making photochemically coated screen printing fabrics for the production of screen printing cylinders from chromium steel wire fabric that is nickel-plated, with an even sensitive layer consisting of at least one layer of photosensitive emulsion applied to one side of the nickel-plated chromium steel wire fabric is disclosed. The chromium steel wire fabric is in web form and is continuously nickel plated in an electrolytic immersion bath, with the chromium steel fabric web serving as cathode.
