PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent plasticizer resistance and free of bleeding of recorded images even upon long-time contact with a plasticizer by adding a specified compound to at least one of an intermediate layer, a recording layer and a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A tetraphenylolethane derivative of formula I is incorporated into at least one of a recording layer, an intermediate layer provided between a support and the recording layer, and a protective layer provided on the recording layer. It is particularly desirable to incorporate the compound of formula I be incorporated into the recording layer. The compound of formula I may be, for example, 1,1,2,2-(4,4',4'',4'''-tetraglycidyloxyphenyl)ethane or 1,1,2,2-(3,3',3.',3'''-tetraglycidyloxyphenyl)ethane. It is generally desirable that the compound be used in an amount of 0.1 to 500 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of a color reaction agent. By this, a thermal recording material can be obtained which has extremely excellent plasticizer resistance and is free of bleeding of recorded images even upon long-time contact with a plasticizer. |
